August 15th, 2025 Release

We've been focused on eliminating configuration friction and giving administrators more control over their DeployStack deployments. Today's release includes seven key improvements that make the platform more flexible for organizations of all sizes while simplifying the developer experience.

Client Configuration

Gateway Client Configuration API

We built a new API endpoint that provides pre-formatted configuration files for MCP clients to connect to the local DeployStack Gateway. This eliminates manual configuration steps and reduces setup errors across all major MCP clients. The endpoint supports Claude Desktop, Cline, VS Code, Cursor, and Windsurf with both cookie and OAuth2 authentication.

Configurable Team Limits

Team creation and member limits are now configurable through global settings instead of being hardcoded to 3. Administrators can adjust these limits based on their organization's needs - from 1-2 teams for simple deployments to 10+ teams for enterprise customers. The default remains 3 teams and 3 members for backward compatibility.

Dynamic Client Configuration

Updated the Gateway Client Configuration modal to dynamically load supported MCP clients from the backend API instead of using hardcoded options. This means the frontend automatically displays all 5 supported clients (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Cline, VS Code, and Windsurf) and will automatically support new clients as we add them.

Improved Registration Flow

We streamlined the registration experience by replacing alert boxes with toast notifications and removing the artificial 2-second delay. Users now get immediate feedback and faster navigation to login after completing registration.

Updated Email Templates

We redesigned all email templates with a modern, professional design that works consistently across email clients. The new templates include our official logo, enhanced footer with community links, and better typography using system fonts for faster loading.

User Preferences System

We implemented a complete User Preferences System that lets users customize their DeployStack experience with themes, notifications, and feature toggles. The system is designed for privacy (users can only access their own preferences) and makes adding new preferences simple without requiring database migrations.

Welcome Email Revamp

We completely redesigned the welcome email to provide immediate, actionable guidance for new users. The new email includes step-by-step setup commands, MCP-specific guidance, and real support resources. We also added admin control over welcome email delivery through a new global setting.
