GitHub Repository Auto-Import for MCP Servers

Creating MCP servers from GitHub repositories just got 10x faster. DeployStack now automatically extracts all the information you need from any GitHub URL - no manual configuration required.

When you paste a GitHub repository URL into DeployStack, we now automatically fetch the repository metadata, detect the programming language and runtime requirements, and pre-populate all MCP server configuration fields. The system intelligently maps languages to runtimes (TypeScript → Node.js, Python → Python, etc.) and extracts package information from files like package.json or pyproject.toml to understand dependencies and installation requirements.

For immediate use, the feature works out-of-the-box with public repositories using GitHub's public API. Teams needing access to private repositories or higher rate limits can optionally configure a GitHub App for enhanced capabilities with up to 5,000 API requests per hour.

This eliminates the tedious manual entry of repository details, ensures consistency across your MCP server configurations, and reduces setup time from minutes to seconds.
